This as-of-yet mysterious game is not of any intrinsic importance. Its value lies in serving as a stepping stone for our heroes, devised to propel their development forward so that they may seize their destiny. A mere "plot device", if you will — one that I use as a tool to guide and enlighten. Each of its former iterations, while in a constant state of fine-tuning, have always held this same purpose.
It has, sadly, never worked as fully intended, despite my tireless work to hone the process over countless universal resets. Only now, as we ready ourselves for our final curtain draw, do I believe it to be in a state fit to produce a successful outcome.
Even so, the desired conclusion will be anything but easy to reach.
